Pour & Slurp: Imaginary Play turned Montessori

 Unscrew.

 Pour.

Slurp.

Out came the Dixie Cups O swiped from my parents cottage and immediately turned into a Tea Party, not fit for a Queen! A natural Montessori-style activity came out of free play; using fine motor co-ordination to learn practical life skills.

Our little Dixie cups were more than half-full; O loved filling the cups as close as possible to the brim and then slurping away before they runneth over!

Child of my heart, then started concocting.
Her bowl of coconut shreds & oatmilk (her idea for snack!) were now part of the free play mix.
A little pouring and a little mixing led to "Coconut Soup."

 Concocting.

 Taste-testing.

O: "Wanna try Mom?"
M: "Would love to!"
O poured a bowl for me and insisted I have a green spoon.
M: "We don't have a green spoon."
O: "Yes we do. Come with me."
She led me to the kitchen, where she found a little green spoon!
O: "See!"
Back to our soup testing...
M: "Mmm. Did you make this recipe yourself!?"
O: (nodding matter-of-factly) 'It's really yummy!"
