Big lessons in Bear Hunts!
We started with a Map Sketch which allowed a little Daily Doodle time.
Erin Miller's blog features an actual Bear Hunt, as she used for a brilliant birthday party http://erinlouisemiller.blogspot.com/2008/12/were-going-on-bear-hunt.html
The hand-drawn map alone is beautiful, not to mention how she hid bears in the local park and equipped party-goers with binoculars!
Felt Board
We then used our Map Sketch to create a Felt Board as inspired by http://makinglearningfun.com/themepages/BearWereGoingonaBearHunt2.htm
We opted not to sew down our map pieces, so we could add the elements as we re-told the story; a la puzzle-style.
O was intent on including a bear on the map.
Lo and behold, I had one from a previous project, in our felt scraps!
We're not scared!
