Shanghai World Financial Center: Architecture in the City
The Bottle-Opener
Shanghai's World Financial Center is locally known as the 'Bottle-Opener'.
Completed on September 14th, 2007 it was considered the second tallest building in the world, reaching 492.5 meters.

The 3D City Model started the tour.
It's screen backdrop took us fast-fast forward through a 24-hour period.
As the sky lit up in the morning....
...and as the city lit up by nightfall.
The observation deck on the 100th floor offers views 474 meters above ground level.

I assumed it would be a glass floor, but it was much more scared-of-heights friendly.
There was a strip of glass flooring down the center for brave ones...
Teeny, tiny Pearl Tower!
O had no problem running and jumping on the glass bits!
Both Daddy and I found our feet stayed firmly on the floor that did not offer views of below!
We followed up Tourist Day with lunch at the famed Din Tai Fung: traditional dumplings & 'xiaolongbao'.
O's fave were the red bean dumplings...
...while Baby C enjoyed the camera carrier!
