Memory Tray
Think, think, think.
Eureka!
ESL classes loved this simple game of memory.
It was a great way to get brains moving and increase vocabulary.
We started with three objects on a tray (read: cutting board) covered with a magic cloth (read: tea towel!)
Storing
O was intrigued when I revealed the 'surprise items' and thinking hard while I gave her the ten second count before covering them again.
Round two.
We added talking about the objects and giving them descriptive details (adjectives), like 'green scissors', 'soft pom pom', 'round masking tape'.
By the third round, she was touching and saying objects to store them in her memory.
O especially liked when I was the one doing the memorizing and she was choosing and hiding objects.
