Autumn Art: Print & Paint & Pencil Crayon
Mixed Medium
we prepped a little Mixed Medium activity for Autumn.
O's watercolour from last week on their last leg, plus a few of our pressed leaves, simple potato stamps and three coloured pencils. I opted to offer only three colours to keep a mood to the pieces.
Bird Stamp
I love the theme of birds and nests.
As is evident in our nursery art...as well as my Pinterest account!
Leaf Rubbings
We began by choosing a leaf for crayon rubbings.
Painting Stamps
Since we don't have any stamp pads, we brushed some watercolour paint on our potato stamps.
This worked really nicely to give the stamp a 'rustic' look.
We used watercolour on it's own, to add 'washes' to our pieces.
Pencil Crayons
Here is where I was caught red-handed.
I selected red, orange and yellow pencil crayons.
O declared she didn't like those colours, headed for the art studio and returned with a 'better' selection.
She even handed me a few contrasting colours (green, blue and gray.)
I have to hand it to her, the addition of the contrasting colours was amazing!
