Pally the Pet Snail

We met 'Pally' on a walk this week. I pointed him out and O decided to keep him.

She announced that we cannot get a dog (which has never been in the plan!), because now she has a pet snail.

O insisted that she would come with us wherever we go. We had to review the moral of 'Mole and the Baby Bird' http://www.soundcityreading.com/rsstories5-2.pdf; keeping an animal in their habitat is the best way to show them that you love them.

O agreed to put Pally under the lettuce leaves in the backyard garden, but was (un)pleasantly surprised when Pally was no where to be found the next day. Then we went over some possibilities; she needed to get away from our chipmunks, she went to find a mate, they are busy making more snails for her to enjoy next year...

O then reminded us that she still wants a pig;)
