Ten Black Dots

Ten Black Dots

Taking another page from Storybook Art, we read Donald Crews 'Ten Black Dots' before creating some scenes from the book.
1) The front cover is a simple number 10 with ten black dots placed inside.
2) O chose her favourite page ("the fox") with two dots.

The fox

We traced some circles with white pencil crayon, so O could work on cutting them out.
Above all the mini activities involved (number ordering, tracing, cutting, drawing), O was most impressed with the scraps left from cutting out circles!

Cutting Circles

She told me that they looked like little books with giant holes in them, no less!) and then proceeded to read them!
Always a fresh perspective!
My intent was to offer her a blank page to create her own Dot Art, but she was stuck on her holy books!
