We're kicking off Chinese New Year week with 'Fireworks in a Jar' experiment, as demonstrated on I Can Teach My Child http://www.icanteachmychild.com/fireworks-in-a-jar/

It's a simple experiment O could complete it without assistance. The results are also somewhat immediate and repeating the experiment does not reduce it's allure!

As tiny droplets of food colouring descend from the oil, they trickle into the water below before busting out (where they dissolve). It looks similar to silk cloth unraveling, as the movement is slow and delicate.

A big winner that can be done again and again!
