Mid Autumn Festival
Lantern Making
We decided to start being regulars to their events, which celebrate Asian festivities (namely the Autumn Moon Festival and Lunar New Year.)
They had several craft tables set up to honour the Autumn Moon Festival.
We began with Lanterns decorated for the parade at the end of the evening.
A young martial artist student was kind enough to share what he has learned and invite the other children to practice a pose while balancing a cup on their heads!
The traditional story of Lady Chang-O was told by one of the mothers, while the children attempted holding tight to their handmade tambourines.
After dinner was the biggest hit of all; The Dragon Dance.
The head and tail of the Dragon capped off the ends of an eager group scurrying to make up the Dragon's Body!
Baby C bringing up the Dragon Tail!
Rainbow Evening
O is already asking when the next party is scheduled!
EXPAND ON ASIAN HOLIDAYS
Mid-Autumn Festival. Last year we celebrated with mooncakes and Lady Chang-O by Amy Tan. I expect I'll have to go mooncake hunting again this weekend! http://mamadrool.blogspot.ca/2014/09/mid-autumn-festival.html
