Gruffalo Puppet Show
I had been saving these Gruffalo finger puppets for a rainy day https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/rnd11-gruffalo-finger-puppet-show-6071121
We stuck them in our Nature Diorama, as well as a impromptu puppet theatre from boxes that have been transformed various times throughout the month!
O played puppeteer while Baby C and I read the story aloud.
This is a must-read from the genius Julia Donaldson; we now collect all of her books, thanks to my British friend who introduced me to her work. http://www.juliadonaldson.co.uk/index.php
It was actually a good activity for story sequencing, as the characters arrive in order and depart in reverse order.
O was ready and waiting for who was going to be called upon next while Baby C was in charge of animal sound effects~!

Manipulatives. When we find a favourite read and it lends itself to a co-ordinating activity, I try to invent something for our Busy Bag collection.
Particularly the stories that will be well loved many times over.

Shadow Puppets. This could be applied to any story, but in this case 'Mousehouse' has used the Gruffalo! http://domesticblissnz.blogspot.ca/search?updated-max=2012-10-11T14:12:00%2B13:00&max-results=15
