I set this up for a trial round prior to inviting the little scientist to join in!
When I finally got it working, it was like a light went off!!
None of us could resist walking by the circuit without giving it a go!

It's also a great opportunity for problem-solving and understanding the importance of connection in circuitry.
A few times the batteries rolled apart, so O had to follow the circuit to locate the disconnection.
