Sci Fri: Flower Dissection

Miraculously, we fit Sci Fri into our week.
We dissected some Mother's Day flowers to discover their anatomy.

O was very interested in the dissection, taking it to another level by piecing the flower apart.
She made piles of petals, stamens, stems and leaves.
We also used our new jewelers loupe to get a closer look at the specimen.

We followed up with some Plant Lit!

'And then it's Spring' by Julie Fogliano.
This is my favourite Spring read, gifted by our dear friends from Shanghai. The illustrations are superb, but the storyline is equally as sweet.
