Vegan Bites: Chana Masala


If you like spice, you can kick this up a notch with cayenne and jalapeno.
Otherwise, omit the above mentioned and keep it family friendly.

Chana Masala
~diced onion
~2-4 cloves garlic, grated
~knob ginger, juiced
~ 2t each garam masala, cumin seed, cardomom seed
~1/2t each turmeric, coriander
~1/4-1/2t cayenne or fresh chili
~1t each salt, cardomom
~1c tomato, stewed
~1T tomato paste
~1/2c coconut milk*optional
~1-2c cooked chickpea
Saute veg and spices in several tablespoons of oil. Add chickpeas.
Simmer in tomatoes and paste.for 20 mins.
Serve with basmati, chopped onion,super-fine julienned ginger, coconut yogurt and fresh cilantro.
