Meet the Author: Andrea Beck

 Elliot the Inspiration

Our local library held an author reading with Andrea Beck, Canadian author of Good Morning, Canada!
She entranced hungry, little (and big) imaginations during her hour presentation.
She started by introducing inspiration for her stories, Elliot the moose and insisted if you have ever played imaginary games with beginnings, middles and endings, you have written stories.

Since she wears both author and illustrator hats, she introduced the audience to drawing in it's simplest form (shapes) and how they evolve into more complex work.

Light pencil drawings, stacking circles
Defining lines and adding emotion

Samples of finished and published pieces
Paintings started as sketches

She then invited members of the audience to play parts of the publishing process; from imagination to idea, all the way to publishing and editing.
