Jiffy Pots

Spring is in the air and we were a little late to tap sap, so we thought we had better get a head start on seed sowing this year!
This is our first year to start seeds indoors. There are a million methods, but we chose to try out the Jiffy Pot mini greenhouses at $10 a tray (with 72 peat moss pellets).

First you have to soak the pellets with warm water to expand, before opening the netting and loosening the soil.

Though we have hundreds of seeds, only certain seeds are best started indoors; namely our tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and tomatillo's.

We chose a South facing window to make use of the solar power!
