Killdear Camo Eggs
Our Killdear Camouflaged Eggs activity was completed in several parts.
First, we discussed how Killdear scratch their nests into the ground and how their eggs might look if they were potentially exposed to predators.
Then we coloured a (chicken) egg with watercolour and pencil crayons, based on how well we believed they would be camouflaged in a field.
Afterwards, we looked at pictures of real Killdear Eggs and compared them to our version.
We had another round of painting eggs to mimic the read deal.
(Killdear eggs are actually quite spotty.)
Then came the challenge of hiding the eggs, so Mr. M (who looks like a Bear) and I ('the predators') could not find them.
The key being the 'Killdear' also had to remember where they hid their own eggs.
It's a big field!
The 'Killdear' (in the game) actually tricked us with some similar coloured rocks!
Mr. M totally fell for it!
He then became so distracted with his rocks, he had no time to hunt for eggs!
The fake birds tricked us a little further by hiding the eggs under some hay.
It was very effective;)
