Math Monday: Blindfold Shapes & Blind Contour
Blindfold-Free Portrait
Note the noted freckles and wrinkles on her nose;)
I'm pretty convinced that math, writing and art can be combined forces on any given day.
Shapes are a great example; responsible after all, for forming images and letters.
We reviewed shapes, sides and angles with a Blindfold Exercise.
Then I took a page from The Art Book for Children re: Joan Miro.
His teacher instructed him to draw shapes without looking.
Shapes were heavily prominent in his work.
We extended this to Blind Contour drawings with great fits of giggles!
