Word Wednesday: Let It Bee Poetry

  Let it Bee!

Even Mr. M has been paying attention to our Bee Studies!
We opted for two types of Bee Poetry.
Senses Poem; essentially a list poem related to the five senses.
For the budding poet, this type of poem offers a boost of confidence.
Miss C perused one of the Bee books to inspire her writing.

The second type of poem was an acrostic poem.
We looked through the beautiful pages of Robert MacFarlane's 'The Lost Words'.

Between his watercolour spreads of nature, he has an acrostic poem.
I wrote a (horrible) sample with the word BEE to give her an idea, before she came up with her own.

EXPAND ON BEE POETRY
The Honeybee. This book is phenomenal; quirky illustrations, scientifically informative and all in poem form!

Winnie the Pooh Series.
Over the years, we've read through Winnie the Pooh and House at Pooh Corner about three times.
AA Milne is a classic. He based Winnie the Pooh on Edward Bear from his son's childhood and writes as if he's amusing his son with stories of him and his stuffed toys. He has a brilliant perspective of life from the eyes of a child. The most endearing childhood read out there. We own them all, including his books of poetry, When We Were Young and Now You Are Six.
Not to mention, the laugh-out-loud factor from the audience, old and young.
Disney does no justice to the original characters.
