Sci Fri: Botanical Bookmarks

 Botany 101

A few years ago we made two types of flower presses.

Technically, any hefty book will do the job, but these are good to have on hand, especially if you have kids who love to collect nature.
We have never done anything with the pressed flowers but leave them in the presses.
Today we sorted through the bunch to identify known species and see which ones press the best.
Daisy, poppy, Queen Annes Lace (Wild Carrot)
*Melissa and Doug are a popular brand for packaging their toys in these fantastic wooden boxes.
They come in handy for loads of projects, like the above.

Using wooden tweezers, they selected their favourites and laid them out on lamination paper.

They were very pleased with the results and decided they would make stunning bookmarks.
