Math Monday: Muffin Tin Math
Mama: "Please make sure all of the coins head back to..."
Miss O: "My pocket!"
Jokes aside (she was nowhere near joking, by the way!), if anyone has that horrible 'Bad-at-Math-for-Life' label hanging over their heads, just introduce some money math.
There are times my kids cannot even recognize numbers, unless they are in the form of coins and bills and piggy banks!
Fair enough, the adult world revolves very much around money, so kids are keen at handling!
This is neither the first or the last time we will play Muffin Tin Math.
We used tiny muffin tins for three levels of learning:
1) placing the correct number of coins in each cup,
2) recognizing coins (including cents and dollar signs)
3) and adding coins to equal the amount shown
Bankers Headache!
Mr. M put himself in charge of making sure the coins were returned to the Bus Money jar.
It was causing him a headache to be the banker!
