20 Days of Play: Music

Colour Compositions
The first of our 20 Days of Play series, began with Music perfectly by accident.
We borrowed the latest Herve Tullet book, 'Say Zoop' and decided we could write music with colours.
Colour compositions.

In the book, each coloured represents a sound. When the dot is large, the sound is loud. When the dot jumps up, the sound is high.
Basically reading symbols to create sound.

Mr M's Musical Art
Afterwards, I had large pieces of paper spread out for Musical Art.
We played a tune from Putamayo's Celtic Dreamland (sans lyrics) while the kids drew what the music made them think or feel with a large focus on colour and the emotions it can evoke.

We topped off our Music Day with 'All Together Singing in the Kitchen' by a sister team.
It's chock full of fun activities related to music, not to mention a catchy CD.
