Map Monday: Map-to-Map Hunt

With the new year, we had one of our frequent discussions, asking the kids what kind of activities top their to-do lists. Besides painting, sewing and swimming, scavenger hunts ("with those maps") was in the Top Ten.
We're doing a week of homesteading with Little House, so we started with Map-to-Map scavenger hunt.
Both big kids were given a map of our property with colour coded clues to find envelopes that contained 4/8 states that Laura lived and traveled.

Once they collected all 8 envelopes, they returned rosy cheeked to put the puzzle pieces together.
They each had an outline of the 8 states perimeter to guide them along.
