Math Monday: Geometry & Islamic Art

Celebrating our first year in the yurt, we are studying the Silk Road.
We started the week with math art (our favourite kind of math!) by using geometry to design Islamic inspired tiles.

The objective was the begin with a circle and from there, create shapes that fit within the circles perimeter.
After the shapes were ready, everyone developed a design to include all three shapes.
At last, we had to create a pattern that repeated itself both in shape and colour.
