Sci Fri: Lake Issyk Kul Science

Quick kitchen science allowed us to see the difference between fresh water and salt water freezes.

We used this experiment to combine with our Silk Road studies, as Lake Issyk Kul is a salt water sample in the cold regions of Krygystan. "Issyk Kul" means 'warm lake' despite it being surrounded by snow capped mountains.

In the winter, you can place your sample lakes outdoors and witness the freezing process.

We happened to use pink salt, so labeling might not have been necessary;)
