Loupe Study: Cardinal Beak

Sorry to the squeamish!
We got up close and personal with some cardinal beaks this week.
An unknown predator is feasting on cardinals under our conifers.
We have found a few sets of beaks and collected them for a closer look.
Jewelers Loupes are a great tool. Magnification is high, so you can get a really detailed look without a microscope.

The Dead Bird

We just happened to have one of my favourite reads by the author of Goodnight Moon. A group of friends find a dead bird in a park and prepare a funeral, complete with homemade song.
