Sci Fri: Pushing Lilacs

 Present
A few years ago we learned about 'pushing buds' by receiving a gift of pussywillow branches during Chinese New Year. We were told to put the branches in water at home and watch the results.
Weeks later, pussywillows had blossomed inside our home.
The warmth made them behave as if it was Spring.

Three Weeks Ago

Slow Science involves observing and noticing results over several weeks.
About three weeks ago, we trimmed some of Grandpa's lilac bushes with healthy-looking buds.
We've been observing the buds burst and turn out Spring green leaves.
We've also been discussing blossoms and whether or not we believe they will bloom indoors, with a lack of pollinators.
Lilac season is so short, so one can only dream.
