Fresh Vs Salt Water Science

The water is wide,
I cannot cross o'er
And neither have
I wings to fly
Give me a boat
That can carry two
And both shall row
My child and I.
~Scottish Folk Song

In honour of Earth Week, we warmed up with a little water science!
After painting the World Water Maps, we were able to clearly see just how much of our planet is made up of water. However, we decided to show just how much of that water is fresh water (on a smaller scale!)

We filled one jar with 750mL of water, which represents the five world oceans.
The second jar was filled with 30mL of water representing the worlds fresh water (and named the Great Lakes, from which most of the worlds fresh water resides.)
