Sci Fri: Peeves the Poltergeist Catapults
Exploration Tables are amazing and warmly welcomed at Hogwarts Homeschool.
Set out some supplies and watch the work in action.
I did have to prep some Catapult Samplers the night before, but it didn't stop the kids from testing and improving upon the designs!
We took turns with the Pencil Catapult, courtesy of 'Playdough to Plato' https://www.playdoughtoplato.com/peep-catapults/
Detailed instructions with photos alongside would have been helpful to review before beginning!
Once we had tested the Fling Factor of several objects, we tested the Popsicle Stick Catapult courtesy of DIY Network https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/make-and-decorate/crafts/how-to-make-a-toy-marshmallow-catapult
The kids located some bottle caps, hot-glued them in place and started whipping DIY Rubber Band Balls around the room.
Caught in the Crossfire!
The Intrigue Factor was high, as an hour later, after testing several of the samplers, the kids continued to work on their own Catapult inventions.
