20 Days of Play: Wet-on-Wet Watercolour

When I think of Waldorf, the first things that come to mind are nature, wood and soft paintings!

Wet-on-wet watercolour is a great method for achieving that soft look in your nature art.

1) Begin by wetting your watercolour paper.
If it's strong, you can rinse it under water. Otherwise, load a large brush and paint water across surface.

2) Load a brush with blue and work ovals starting from the outside.
As you enter the center, allow the colour to fade.

3) Load clean brush with yellow. Make sweeping strokes across bottom of painting.
Colour change should occur.

4) At this stage, you can wait for the paint to dry and add details, or continue painting with the intent that your subject will bleed as it dries.

5) Once the work is dry, you can remove tape frame for display.
