Sunbonnet

The kids have been busy making bonnets, courtesy of 'Purl Soho'.

It's a great pattern for starters, with only 4 pieces and photo tutorial.
In total, it took Miss C about 2 hours to complete down to the ribbon ties.

Me: "Sorry Charlotte. 

I made a mistake giving you instructions." 

Miss C: "It's okay. I don't really care.

I make mistakes all the time."

Miss O is the maker of fly-by-the-seat bonnets, in which she prefers not to use a pattern.

However, once she caught sight of her sisters patterned creation, she was seeking material to make herself the same style.

 

She tucked an extra few stitches in the back to shape the bonnet more closely to her neck.

Bonnets in our house are seriously inspired by The Little House Series, however we're currently reading Little Women, so it still works!
