Math Monday: Mystery Message

Mystery Math Message has been done before, but I finally printed out a 1-200 grid!
So much easier!
This takes a little prep time to create a message or sketch in the grid and prepare the colour/number code.

For the littles, I prepped the numbers is corresponding colours, to avoid confusion and frustration.
I try to have each sketch/message different and allow the numbers not to be listed in consecutive order; it seems to help the recognition challenge.

Once the Happy Face was revealed (and there are multiple guesses along the colouring process) the second step was to Reverse Roles: ask the kids to prepare a challenge for myself or one another with the remaining 1/3 of the page.
