Sci Fri: Leaf Chromotography

Soaking in the Fall sunshine with some Outdoor Science.
The lab requires only a few handfuls of leaves (assortment of colours), a few clear jars, filter paper (coffee filters or bleeding paper works) and rubbing alcohol.

Collect leaves and place in jars (keep similar colours together).

You can squish or snip. Both work equally as well.
After you pour in a little rubbing alcohol on the bottom of each jar, send in your clean filter and make sure it reaches the liquid level.

Immediately the kids will notice the alcohol traveling up the paper.
However after approximately an hour, the colour bands begin showing.
