20 Days of Play: Stitch (Curve Stitch Math)

 
Ohhh, I love combining math and art!
'Hands On Math' had this sums stitch work.
We only regret not stitching on fabric as the results were so stunning.

1) Draw a cross and mark in even spaces 1 through 5 on each outward line (1 starting at the center).
2) Work in quarter sections, doing sums that add to 6 (ex. 1+5, 2+4, 3+3...)
3) Witness a pattern emerge (curve stitch)

We also took a minute to check if this is possible with a variety of sums.
The larger the sums, the larger the curve.
