20 Days of Play: Sun (Science!)

Using an orange and a flashlight, we got a good idea of what the Earth would look like when the sun is shining at different times of the year.

First we decorated the orange with an equator (black line), poles (straight pins) and the Northern and Southern hemispheres (thumbtacks).

Then we found the Universe (dark room!) and tilted the Earth (orange) on an axle.

We followed up with The Shortest Day, two variations.
