Aurora Boreas

Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) in laymens terms is a collision of charged particles from the sun that enter the Earths atmosphere. Lights are then seen above the magnetic poles of the North and South.

We cut out a paper landscape silhouette as a guide for our chalk smudging.
The kids then drew coloured lines in an outward direction.

Me: "Nice Northern Lights!" 

Mr. M :"No this is ladders. 

So many so if one is broken, you have another."

 

Aurora is the Greek goddess of Dawn.

Boreas is the Roman god of the North Wind.
