Math Monday: Temperature Graph & Number Line

It is a dangerous notion to deem Ontario 'balmy' at the beginning of January, making it inevitable that your words will be drowned in tomorrows snowstorm!
But it's truly balmy. Plus three, People!
Though it's not really helpful to this weeks science theme of  'Snow & Ice' it brings home the fact that global warming is the real deal, which segues into next weeks topic, 'Climate Change.'

We welcomed 2020 with a watercolour numberline.
We opted to make a vertical numberline to visualize numbers that go up and down/increase and decrease.
Choosing cold and warm watercolour helped to visualize temperature.

Monday Bar Graph
Then we created two graphs; a bar graph and a line graph.
We will take time each morning to check the temperature before making our recording.
It's best to record at the same time of day, each day, to get comparable results.
As I said, it's balmy here in Ontario and morning snow melts into afternoon mud.
