Math Monday: Tesselations
Tesselations are tricky to get your head around.
We played with graph paper sketching before each coming up with our own design.
Basically it's a puzzle that continues to fit into itself (not unlike Tetris).
What is great about this exercise (besides some brain bending) is you start to see pictures in patterns.
We have also played Tesselations with Lego.
Creating the same design over again to fit snugly into one another.
In order to do this with Lego, you will need to stack your design a minimum of two.
Each of the kids took turns playing with the design.
Mr. M wanted the colours to match.
Miss C created images out of the pictures.
