Word Wednesday: Blue Colour Poem & Haiku
Blue-Colour Poem
This isn't the first or last time we'll write Colour Poems.
For your budding poet, this is a real winner.
Simply list around 5 nouns with the same colour.
Then add five adjectives onto the nouns.
Then add five adjectives onto the nouns.
If you want to take it a step further, you can insist the adjectives are alliterations.
Water reflects sky
A place for herons to eat
Fish make homes in it.
~Water Haiku

~Water Haiku
Haiku poetry is a bit trickier.
It involves three lines of counted syllables, in a pattern of 5, 7, 5. It's helpful in haiku to have a subject, often a single subject to be interpreted by the writer.
This is another great form of poetry that does not have to involve rhyme.
