Word Wednesday: Red Thread Maze
Overdue for a scavenger hunt of sorts, we set up a red thread (orange rope!) like the dungeon in Despereaux.
At each tree, the kids were to collect a word card that would complete a quote from the novel.
The kids stepped it up by doing the maze with their eyes closed (as if they were in the dark dungeon.)

The novel is chocked full of clever quotes.
We selected some adjectives from the story that represent characters or situations; awful, guilty, ragged...
After we looked them up in the thesaurus, we decided which characters or situations would suit the adjectives.
