Word Wednesday: Turtle Brainstorm & Poetry

Acrostic Poem

Turtles live in water
Unbelievable omnivore
Returning to bask after a dip
Tails are different for male or female
Leaves their children after laying eggs
Eggs are buried in sand.

Before we had the chance to write some Turtle Poetry, we read facts about turtles for a brainstorm session.
In the past, when we have creative writing, we simply go on what the kids know.
Giving them a list of words to work with, was an enormous help.
