Word Wednesday: Parts of an Owl

 

Tails, talons, tarsus and tibia-so many 't' words learning the parts of an owl! A straightforward, make-a-match game, placing word cards beside the image of a barn owl. We followed up with some copy work about wisdom.

Our read aloud for Fall is this series by Avi about a brave deer mouse and Dimwood forests king, Mr. Ocax the owl. It's an amazing family read (novel loaded with pictures) and there are several in the series to stretch out the adventures.
