Word Wednesday: Spelling Battleship

 

Another simple end-of-the-year review game: Spelling Battleship. Set up a grid with squares large enough to hold Scrabble pieces (or in this case, stamped letters). Use a number line and the alphabet for horizontal and vertical mapping. Set up a cereal box between players and start guessing. The kids prefer to use coins to cover the bases, but Cheerios are a much cheaper option!
