Math Monday: Geometry Scavenger Hunt

 

The biggest of the bunch were sent on a scavenger hunt to list the objects outdoors that looked like large versions of our Geometric Solids set (a.k.a 3D shapes.) When they came back with a list, we reviewed the names of the solids and how to draw them. Then they completed some Geometry Addition, such as:

cylinder + cone = yurt

cylinder + hemisphere = silo

cube + pyramid = pump house
