Egg Drop Challenge

 

Mama: "How are you going to protect your egg?"

Mr. M: "You catch it!" 

When I suggested the Egg Drop Challenge and handed each child a single, raw egg, the big kids quickly got to work collecting supplies and devising a plan. The littlest of the crew however, had other plans, like snack. His egg sat quietly by, while the other eggs were housed in elaborate plans.

When the big kids announced they were complete, we set outside to test the results of their labour (all but the child who was well fed and seemingly idle). Mr. M was happy to volunteer his egg first, confidently climbed the haybale and dropped without hesitation. 

His egg gently hit the fallen hay, unscathed! Big smiles!

We followed up with a fun relay of Chicken Egg Drop, where each child placed a wooden egg marked with a letter between their legs and had to drop it in the corresponding basket!
