Heroes in a Half Shell: Seed Starters
Since we purchased a big tray of eggs for this weeks egg-speriments, we had some egg-stra on hand for Spring science! Plus-they are easy to break-so we found a use for half shells!
Very rare that I ask the kids to drag the dirt indoors-so they were happy to fill a bucket and bring it in! Simply fill your half shells with black earth and drop in a small seed of choice. We had some of last years saved seeds; cilantro and dill that should take only a few days to show shoots. You can plant the shell right in the ground when the frost has passed.
