Ocean Science: Layers Deep

Learning about the layers of the ocean; sunlight zone, twilight zone, midnight zone, abyss and the trenches. We set out to tint water from light to deep blue with watercolour liquid paint to represent the five layers.

 

We followed up by painting the shades  and labeling the regions on paper.

 

 

The new audiobooks have built-in buttons to play, stop and fast forward. 'Sounds of Nature-World of Oceans' plays ocean sounds when you press the button on each page. As you read, you can listen to what sorts of things you might hear in that environment. Buttons are a big hit!
