Vegan Bites: Honey Spelt Loaf

Bread baking is not my specialty-but it's something that we keep trying- as the kids love the process and the end results. It usually requires very few ingredients, loads of patience and ample opportunity to get your hands dirty. An added bonus-the house smells great and lunch is ready to go courtesy of the kids.

We combined a Honey Spelt loaf with our bee studies.

Since we divided the dough-they ended up looking like burger buns!
Honey Spelt Loaf
~1 1/4c warm water
~1T dry yeast
~1/4c honey
~3c spelt flour
~1 1/2t sea salt
~2T olive oil
Combine water, yeast and honey. Set aside to foam.
Mix flour, salt. Add oil and flour mix to yeast. Stir well. Knead on floured surface for 8-10 minutes. It wil be ready when it bounces back after pressing your finger onto the dough.
