Literature Study: 'New Switzerland' Map Monday

 

In the past we've completed loads of watercolour map-making based on countries of the world, but have yet to create fictional maps, such as New Switzerland from Swiss Family Robinson. The task of the day was to sketch as many places as you could possibly remember on the island and complete the map with a bold chalk pastel finish.

We started with white chalk renditions on brown kraft paper. Once they had pinpointed locations, they moved onto completing the final piece.

They each included the original shipwreck and approximate location.
