A is for Apple: Tonal & Colour Rendering

One kid loves to draw in colour. One kid loves the look of a detailed sketch. One kid is getting hand muscles warmed up in prep for writing practice. We offered apple drawing to fit the various preferences.

When completing still life-it's great to have the subject at hand. Display a single item or group of items for study.

If completing a contour drawing-the goal is to keep your eyes on the subject and less on the paper/pen.

If teaching to observe shape-focus on breaking the subject down into bite-sized pieces.

Shading can happen with pencil or colour. Remember to use an eraser to highlight lightest areas.
