E is for Eco: Eco Pallete
One of the most inspiring parts of having your kids home is watching what they do with their time. They all have varying interests and skill sets plus expertise grows as they explore their passions.
Currently, Miss O is in the throes of developing a natural paint line. She collects plants and minerals, grinds them down and mixes them with water. She has even designed her own wooden pallet where she drills out sections for paint and a handle.
j]When I asked for a tour, she took me around the property describing which plants have been a success and how each requires a different process for extracting dye. She showed me several jars of her colours ready to be mixed with water and added to a new palette.
jThen she took me to her 'shop' to demonstrate the making of a palette with a hand drill. She has prepared several palettes for friends and family so far, but she has a business plan on the go of how to make money from selling the product.
